Guide To Speed Up Android Smartphone

Unlike the iOS world, Android is tremendously varied by both the nature of it and because it allows it to be altered to a really low level: this makes it possible for the production partners to edit it, customize it and create it according to its own needs.

There are a thousand reasons why an Android smartphone takes action slower than another and vice versa.

It is very rare – sometimes a fortuitous case – to find two smartphones that always do the same operations in a time equivalent to one thousandth of a second: even among the same smartphones, even the same software and the same model, the time may differ and in fact differs .

Of course, we are talking about inezie but it is to highlight the point that there are so many and many variables to determine if an Android smartphone is to be considered slow in doing the operations. It could be because of too many shitty apps. I would recommend muzhiwan play store for downloading apps rather than Google Play Store. You could simply download the muzhiwan apk and install it.

Then when we put in the apps downloaded from the Play Store,  the variables increase: in the sense that when we use one of these – whatever it is – we exit the manufacturer’s “certified software” area and head to our smartphone code third-party companies.

If you’ve realized that your terminal does not execute commands quickly, you should start thinking about how you might get better performance . That’s why we intend to have more responsiveness to the actions we share through the touch screen, the ability to launch the App with more speed … In order to minimize the waiting time between one and the other for your smartphone to the minimum.

Now is the time to make some distinction on what we want to say.

There are Smartphones and Smartphones and listing them all would be unthinkable and impossible, so we could very well say that you have different user experience based on the market bands (and for bands we do not refer to the price but the performance of the device ):

High Bandwidth : It’s really rare to find a smartphone in this band that shrinks in its actions while using it over time. The top-of-the-range terminals are the flagship of companies that produce, ergo, are the business cards of the same and they have most of the media spotlight spotlights.

So manufacturers always pay attention to them and support them, but we also remember that they have a  top hardware at the time of marketing, so the power – to have a great and enjoyable experience – is certainly not certain;

Media Band : Even in this band, the performance of Android devices has been very stabilized and the user experience bracket has risen considerably. Although we can not directly compare them to the high end, we are aware that performance can be very close, and even in rare cases and in the presence of an average but careful user , they can be optimized so well that they can be compared with the top of the range;

Low Band : It’s right here that you have to be careful. Low bandwidth is not synonymous with low and frustrating experience of use. Here, too, the performance is more or less aligned but we come to a standstill with few resolution options: hardware. Though this has been improved over the years, if the terminal belongs to the low end and costs relatively little, something will have to give up. We are not really saying that it is a “csfeca” (also depends on the needs), but it is logical that we should not expect flash mode between applications and system menus! Simply because speed is not their strong point: but here are the exceptions that are still difficult.

Now, after the theory lesson we pass on practice. We’ve talked about 5 steps to speed up Android and the ones we’re going to explain are doing just that. We’ve decided to order them for trouble , so the simplest ones will help you to dramatically increase the speed to the hardest people who change the cards in the table, really to make you doubt you still have your smartphone in your hands!

1. Restore the device.

We did not invent hot water, we know it! Additionally, this advice could be extended until a few years ago to most people with terminals that did not have the appropriate support from the manufacturer.

But technology evolves, Android evolves and quality standards have shifted – fortunately – upwards. Obviously there are exceptions!

But the phrase is always the same: in front of an endless Android phone smartphone we can not know what terminal the user is reading this guide, let alone know the version he is using.

And if you have a dated smartphone and / or low-level optimization from the manufacturer, it would be advisable to inform you that user experience may become frustrating after some time: install / uninstall applications, store messages, OS saves in hidden system folders, etc. With restoration, things can go back to the first use of the smartphone but, in the absence of updates, it’s just a palliative : ergo, we’ll find ourselves having to perform another recovery to regain a minimum speed.

So if you have a terminal in question, know that the easiest and fastest way to do it is to restore it : as the word itself says, it will erase all of your data so before doing so remember to save the content you prefer in the Micro SD or on your PC!

Follow these steps to do so:

  • Tap on the settings menu;
  • Tap Backup and Restore;
  • Touch Factory Restore Tap.

You will find here the instructions that will tell you that you will lose all the data and also the accounts that you will lose access (but it will be enough for the next installation, fill in the form with your user data to be able to retrieve). As soon as you are ready, press Restore the device, and at the next restart you will find it as when you removed it from the box and turned on for the first time.

2. Decrease the transition time or reset it.

When we jump between the various system menus, we open or close applications, or even when we push the function keys (back, home and multitasking) passes a very precise time span. In this period of time, the system makes us see and appreciate an animation called transition animation . It lasts a lot less, less than a second, and basically serves not to let us see the “net cut” with the next operation.

Well, all applications – whether third-party or system-based – use this Android-controlled transition to give a semblance of continuity to our user experience. The point is that while some applications synchronize these animations with their boot, others first wait for it to run and then start!

All this to say that if you reduce the time of transitions by making them faster – or deactivated – you will see a noticeable increase in the speed of your operations. Try it yourself with these steps:

  • Go to the settings menu (generally the gear icon);
  • Go search for device information (generally one of the last menu items) and log in;
  • When you find the Build Version plugged in 7 times;
  • An alert will appear as a popup and tell you that you are now a developer;
  • Go back to the settings;
  • Now a new string will be called Developer Options, get us out;
  • Look for the three items that interest us: Animation scale window , transition animation scale and animator lifetime scale (usually all three are positioned one after the other, scrolling to the end of the list).
  • Here generally the value is 1.5% (but companies sometimes change it as they feel most appropriate), bring it to the minimum ( 0.5% or 0.25% if you see it) for all three values;
  • Finally restart the device.

In your eyes, after reboot, the entire UI will look more responsive and quicker to execute your commands! Simply the animation time will be diminished and accelerated! Of course, for a single operation, it will not be the definitive solution but you think during work or even school to do 10 queue operations: take a photo, open Messenger to send a message, close it and then open the gallery, etc … In the end everything will be much more immediate , sacrificing the accompaniment with a transition and thus diminishing its duration.

3. Change the System Launcher.

Each Android Smartphone comes with a Launcher : some require more resources becoming heavy and others less, some are equipped with Drawer and others no, some allow for profound personalization and others not.

The thing that interests us though is that the Launcher  is always active, from the moment you turn on the phone until you turn it off.

In the Store there are avalanche of alternative Launchers , we list three of them we’ve tried among the best, ordering them from the one that required more resources than the one they asked for less:

  • A. Nova Launcher:

    This application is full of features that are truly free from our fantasy regarding the customization of the homescreen! The first thing that comes to mind – because I used it – is the ability to use a different background than the one that only covers the part of the Dock : the space where there are applications that do not change between a page and ‘the other, the ones we want to have always at fingertips in short.

    By staying in the Dock field, you can increase the number and change the number of Applications shown in this dedicated space. For our purpose, that is to increase system fluctuation , it is great with an impact on the resources of many other Producer Launcher Stocks.

  • B. Evie Launcher:

    Evie is definitely the idea of wanting to be always aesthetically different from the others: in fact, developers always try to modify something in the basic package to differentiate themselves from other similar products! In the main screen, you can do everything that goes through your head: applications in every corner, overlapping folders , underexposed, with an always visible bar that works as search files, and Widgets also can be placed anywhere! With a bottom-up swipe you will open the drawer and with a gesture from top to bottom there will be a search for the installed Applications .

    Again, there is no problem with resource demand, with an interface that “moves” smoothly. We did not notice recharges, lags or slugs that would affect the experience, not even with a low end gaming!

  • C. Smart Launcher Pro 3:

    And finally, Smart Launcher Pro 3 is the one with the most updates. The peculiar feature of this Launcher is to introduce us a first-time configuration procedure, where the product will then be tailored to our preferences for App installed on the smartphone, multimedia, social, etc. As regards Evie Launcher , gestures are different: with one swipe from right to left you will enter the drawer , instead with a swipe from left to right there will be the screen that will contain the Widgets. It goes if everything else can be placed on the central screen! Everything is very specific and can be consulted with a quick look. You can make a minimal customization of course, but beware it was designed as a very “tight” Launcher.

4. Increase RAM beyond the manufacturer’s required amount (difficult and serving the Root).

If we want to go for a much deeper intervention and have tangible benefits , you can, but things get complicated! So if you do not hear it , just proceed with the first three points of the guide!

The procedure we are now reporting is tested on a Galaxy S4 with Android Lollipop and a Nexus 5 with Android Marshmallow,  both with active Root permissions .

The aforementioned ones have completed the procedure, but be careful:  responsibility is yours only for any malfunctions. I will never tire to tell you that the Android world is varied, immensely and incredibly different. We do not have smartphones with the same hardware and the same software architecture, so things may go differently than you expect them to. Anyway, let’s proceed!

To get wider improvements from the point of view of speed, we  will use the Swap file method : a method used automatically, for example on Windows PCs, to use a portion of memory in the HDD or in the SSD, when the operating system realizes that it has reached the limit of available physical RAM and can no longer route other processes from the SoC to volatile memory!

What happen? Using this method (which Android does not include in its stock architecture), the OS will have another totals of additional RAM available. But beware, this portion we will create  will not have the speed of writing / reading the actual RAM!  With the latest UFS storage technologies, latency is compared to an eMMC memory, but the difference, albeit minimal, persists!

Of course, UFS memory is not installed on entry level terminals … Ergo, if you have a memory with this type of technology you probably have 3GB of RAM up and this guide could only serve you for your mere personal experience !

But do these strictly compulsory phrases, let’s go to practice and explain how to proceed.

  • Root permissions : here you have to search the web ( ) and then continue with our guide because there are thousands of smartphones based on Android and many, many of them have a different procedure for getting them;
  • App to download from the Play Store : RAM Manager Free;

Once installed, open the RAM Manager Free app   and – of course – allow it to make Root changes with the window that will open the first time you access it.

With a gesture from the extreme left to the right one will open a carousel and, once displayed, press on the  Swap file .

Now you can choose the path to create the portion of RAM we’ve talked about so far and its size!

We recommend a position easily reached without too much under folders: since you have Root permissions enabled, also “/ storage /” and then the size you want to attribute to it.

Here too, the decision is very varied: the advice we could give you is to decide on the basis of our GB capability that we have on the smartphone. In any case, do not increase the Swap file space over 2 GB:

If you have decided to assign 1 GB , you will write 1024 MB ; If you decide to cut half a GB you will write 512 MB , etc …

Confirm and wait for the end of the process, it’ll be completed in a matter of minutes and in any case based on the hardware you have available.

Finally, return to the previous screen and flag on  “Apply at startup”  to confirm everything and activate the Swap file every time the terminal is started!

Attention, this does not mean it will always be used. No, it will only be used when it is needed and when the control kernel will hear that there is no more physical RAM available for classical storage.

Remember, however, that RAM was designed to write / read / write / read – in this infinite loop – n thousand times! Your ROM, eMMC or UFS being NO … So use sparingly as you’ve just described,  always having an eye on what the system is doing between RAM and Swap files!

5. Install a Custom ROM (difficult and requires Root, Unlock Bootloader and Modified Recovery).

One of the most complete solutions to radically changing user interface , performance, and experienceis replacing one’s own operating system – created by the manufacturer and developed for just that particular smartphone – with another.

The alternative operating system is created and followed by a vast community that, depending on the model, has its own support to provide a much longer parallel parallel to the Android smartphone we have in our hands.

Not for all smartphone models in the world is this: many are super hyper-supported and others are not even considered: it depends on a lot of factors and the first thing that comes to mind is the hardware of the device, the popularity of it the manufacturer is unwilling to provide access to certain procedures!

Generally the reasons why you want to install a Custom Rom are:

  • We have a smartphone for over two years (sometimes even less) that the manufacturer does not support anymore. Here you can install a compatible Custom ROM and have a current Android version, orphan, of all the customizations that our device had before;
  • They want to improve the performance of the device, and most Custom ROMs do so: they do not have to undergo commercial agreements, are naked and crude based on the standard version of Android with special features created at Hoc, but it is up to the user to activate them or not, ergo, full control .

Be careful, however, that it is not all roses and flowers: being created, supported, and developed by independent developers you will have no guarantee that everything is always good.

Moreover, some alternative ROMs  may have problems with particular features: it is not difficult to find custom ROMs  where the developer states that the camera , rather than WiFi , rather than another component may not work properly or not work properly.

And here you can do little, as the primary manufacturer does not deliver “guide documents” in the form of driver files that serve to optimize that specific component with another operating system.

Always read the description that accompanies the alternative ROM and its support and operation status.

But how can I install a Custom ROM and how do I comply with the basic requirements written down to be able to do so?

For each terminal the story is for itself, for some it is simpler and for others it is a real ordeal!

If you decide to take this route here are the guidelines to follow:

  • Connect to ;
  • In the search field, type the name of your smartphone;
  • Press on the first result obtained;
  • At the top, press on the title of your Smartphone.

Here will be all the index of the operations, information and alternate ROMs that you can install. Obviously as soon as you go inside there will be instructions , any functions not yet supported , version on which you can install the ROM proposal, comments and feedback of who has already done it, etc!

I highly recommend that the procedure is not easy to implement and know that the warranty  on your terminal will cease to be valid.

In this last case Buon Modding !
